BENTHE

“I think making our relationship ‘Facebook official’ was the first thing I had posted in years. At first, I didn’t even realize the impact, but right before my girlfriend pushed the update button I realized that this was actually kind of a moment for me. A lot of people in my network didn’t know that I was a lesbian. Of course, I told my family and friends, but former colleagues and people from high school didn’t know about it. After we made it official, I got a lot of nice messages from people who hadn’t known before. I think it was the final part of my coming out.”
