“Two years ago, my dad came here on holiday. I hadn’t seen him for about a year, since I had come out to our family. While he was visiting, I was in the process of moving in with my best friend and my dad came to our apartment. He asked me, ‘Kevin, are you moving in with your partner?’ I was like, ‘No, no, dad. This is just my friend.’ I was surprised how open he was to the whole idea. I had always had a closer relationship with my mom, but now I think it feels stronger with my dad.”
