“My coming out was pretty rough. I come from Asian heritage and my family is small. It’s just me, my mom and my sister. My mom was not used to this idea that being gay was even possible. She didn’t grow up in a world like that. I had to be really open and patient with her while she tried to understand me and my life. She’s cool with it now. My sister always knew I was a lesbian. Now they both do and are supportive.”

“I have to be representative of what’s going on right now and I have to use my medium and voice.”

“I’m the only one who has to live in my body for the rest of my life.”

“All the kids in school know our children have two lesbian mothers and two gay fathers.”
